Umbrian cuisine
At our restaurant, we aim to introduce our guests to the most traditional flavours of Umbrian cuisine

Ristorante Sorella Luna - Assisi - Traditional Umbrian cuisine

Our wine selection is made almost exclusively from the wineries of our region, to which we have added a few labels from Tuscany and Northern Italy. The olive oil we use comes from a small holding at Rocca Sant’Angelo, not far from Assisi, while our bread is baked daily at a bakery near the village of Tordandrea di Assisi.

Our chef Artan offers a selection of first and main courses based on the seasonal availability that distinguishes the Umbrian culinary tradition.

We like the idea of offering your something new to taste every day, which is why we use just about every known type of pasta variety in our various menus spanning each week.
A foretaste? Scented “Strangozzi al tartufo”, “Mezzemaniche al rosmarino”, “Mezze penne alla spoletina”, “Tagliatelle ai funghi porcini”, “Bucatini all’amatriciana”, “Farfalle all’etrusca”, “Ravioli al Frate Sole”, plus risotti with radicchio, saffron, Sagrantino wine, asparagus…

Secondi di carne

Meat is one of the mainstays of Umbrian cuisine…
Allow us to tempt your palate with mixed grills over hot lava stones, the unique flavor of locally reared pork “puntarelle”, various cuts of Tagliata, filet, “Scottadito” lamb, roast chicken, turkey and guineafowl, all accompanied by a glass of fragrant Umbrian red.
